Owned by BBK Electronics, Vivo is a Chinese technology company that manufactures smartphones, smart accessories, and other consumer electronics. Vivo has made a name for itself in the smartphone market with it relatively affordable smartphones in all price segments. Also, Vivo makes sure its smartphone is stacked with some of the best features available that you can get at a specific price point. This helps to make the company’s smartphone stand out in the large smartphone market. Vivo has launched the Vivo V21e as one of the latest additions to the Vivo V-series.

The Vivo V21e was launched alongside its more expensive and more premium sibling, the Vivo V21. Despite being more affordable, the V21e still has some of the top premium features its sibling has. For example, the rear camera system, battery capacity, and charging speeds remains the same.
The Vivo V-series is for mid-range smartphones and this can be seen when looking at the Vivo V21e specs and price. To keep things simple, the phone comes with a good enough display, a good camera system, a powerful processor, and a beautiful design.

Design and Body
Just like I said earlier, the Vivo V21e has a really beautiful and mesmerizing design and I’m confident that is one of the best-designed phones in its price range. Vivo decided to take enough time and resources into the physical build of the phone.
The phone comes in a sleek body that is quite slim and also lightweight. It is 7.38mm thin and only weighs about 171 grams. The frame of the phone is rounded and this makes the phone really comfortable and premium when it is in the palm.
The rear of the phone is made from anti-glare glass, and it is resistant to fingerprint smudges so it won’t get dirty easily. On the rear, there is the camera system with a LED flash in a vertical rectangular bump at the top left with Vivo’s branding at the bottom left.

On the side, there is the power button and volume rocker at the right with the SIM & SD card slot being at the left. At the bottom side, there is the 3.5 mm headphone jack, USB-C port, and speaker grille positioned from left to right. On the top side, there is a microphone.
As for color options, the phone is available in Diamond Flare and Roman Black.
Display
Coming to the display, the Vivo V21e sports a 6.44 inches AMOLED display that has an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 409 PPI density. It has support for HDR10 so you can watch high dynamic range content from streaming services.
As for brightness, the display has a typical brightness of 430 nits with a peak brightness of 570 nits. This is enough to make the phone visible outdoors. At the top center, there is the outdated water drop notch to house the selfie camera. With a 2,000,000 to 1 contrast ratio, the phone displays deep blacks and punchy colors when watching videos or playing games.
Sadly, there is no protection glass applied so you’ll need to get a tempered glass screen protector to prevent scratches and easy damage.
Processor and Memory
On the inside, the Vivo V21e draws its power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset. The octa-core chipset is built on an 8nm fabrication process and it features two Kryo 465 Gold cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and six Kryo 465 Silver cores clocked at 1.8 GHz.

The chipset is paired with the Adreno 618 GPU that offers decent when performing graphics-intensive tasks like gaming.
The processor is coupled with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There is a dedicated micro SD card slot so you can expand the storage if need be.
Camera
Coming to the camera, the Vivo V21e has the same rear camera system as its more expensive sibling with the selfie camera being where there’s a slight change.
The triple rear camera system features a 64MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture, an 8MP ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture and 120-degree FOV, and a 2MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture.
It can record videos in 4K resolution at 30 fps and in 1080p resolution at 30 or 60 fps.

There is a 44MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and Auto Focus tucked in the water drop notch at the top center. It can record videos in 4K and 1080p resolution at 30 fps.
Battery and Charging
The Vivo V21e is backed by a 4,000 mAh non-removable battery.
When the battery runs low and you need to recharge, there is support for 33W fast charging via its USB Type-C port. Vivo claims that the fast charger can take the phone from 0% to 66% in only 30 minutes of charging.
Network and Connectivity
There is support for 4G LTE networks on the Vivo V21e and it has support for the following LTE bands: 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 39, 40, and 41.

The phone comes with dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (a/b/g/n/ac), Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.1 (A2DP, LE), GPS (A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS, QZSS), FM Radio, and USB On-The-Go. There can also be NFC present but it depends on your region.
Software
On the software front, the Vivo V21e runs on Android 11 with Funtouch OS 11.1 straight out of the box.
Vivo V21e Price and Availability
The Vivo V21e price starts at around €240 or $270 and it is available in Vivo’s official stores in select countries as well as popular global online stores like Amazon, AliExpress, etc.
Vivo V21e Review
