OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro get Oxygen OS 12 update


The OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro are OnePlus’s flagship smartphone for this year and it comes with top-of-the-line specs every 2021 flagship can offer.
Now, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro get Oxygen OS 12 update a few weeks after Google unveiled the Android 12 on its Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. This stable update is currently rolling out to the devices across most regions globally. This Oxygen OS 12 update is based on Android 12.

Oxygen OS 12 Update Changes

The Oxygen OS 12 update brings new changes when compared to the Oxygen OS 11 and still keeps the name even after the recent merge with Oppo’s Color OS.

OnePlus 9 Pro

This new update comes with some new design elements and animations. There are also new app icons that have new textures and according to OnePlus “a design inspired by brand-new materials and uniting lights and layers.”

OnePlus Shelf also got some changes, there are now more Shelf card styles with three new cards. These new cards are Earphone Control Card, OnePlus Watch Card, and OnePlus Scout.

The Gallery app has also got some updates. It now supports pinch-to-zoom layouts while you scroll through thumbnails.

OnePlus 9

With the Oxygen OS 12 update, Work-Life Balance is now available and it lets you switch between Work and Life modes using a Quick Setting. You can customize each mode to suit yourself with app-specific notification settings. You can also switch between the two modes automatically depending on your Wi-Fi network, location, or time.

• WLB 2.0 now supports automatic Work/Life mode switching, based on specific locations, Wi-Fi network, and time, also bringing customized App notification profiles according to the personalization

As of now, there are few reports of signal loss on some OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro models. So, proceed with caution and check OnePlus Forums for new information about this update. Two days after, OnePlus has stopped the rollout of this update due to its unstable and biggy nature, we hope it gets fixed and rerolled soon.
