This is the first Samsung is releasing a “Lite” version of a Galaxy Note and the first time the Note series has more than one phone. Design and Body
The design of this smartphone is still amazing, Samsung decided to cut costs by going with a less premium build. It has a glasstic back which is a serious fingerprint magnet and an aluminum frame. It has a thickness of 8.7 mm and weighs about 199 grams. The S Pen goes into the slot at the bottom side.
For the display, Samsung didn’t remove features just to cut costs. It comes with a large 6.7 inches Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and 394 PPI density. The display has support for HDR10 content. The screen is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The phone has a super useful Always-on display feature. Beneath the display, you’d find the optical fingerprint sensor for biometric screening.
Processor and Memory
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite is powered by the octa-core Exynos 9810 SoC (10nm) that has a maximum clock speed of 2.7 GHz coupled with Mali-G72 MP18 GPU. This is the processor used in the Galaxy Note 9 so expect similar performance.
As for memory, it comes with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage with micro SD card support.
Coming to the camera, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite still keeps up a great performance. It has a triple rear camera setup that features a 12MP wide camera with OIS, a 12MP 2X telephoto camera with OIS, and a 12MP ultrawide camera. For video recording, it can do: 4K@30/60fps & 1080p@30/60/240fps.
On the front, we have a 32MP selfie camera tucked in the center punch hole camera. It can record videos at 4K and 1080p @ 30 fps.
Battery and Charging
In the battery department, Samsung decided to take things to another level as it has a larger battery compared to the more expensive Note 10 and Note 10+. It has a 4,500 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery. As for charging, it supports fast charging at up to 25W. There’s no wireless charging support though.
Network and Connectivity
There’s 4G LTE network on this phone and it supports the following LTE bands: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 20, 28, 38, 40, 41, 66. It comes with dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi direct, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, FM radio, and NFC. It has a USB 2.0 type C port for charging and data transfer.
All Galaxy Note comes with an S Pen and the Note 10 Lite also has one. The S Pen present here has Bluetooth LE integrated into it so you can use it as a remote aside from using it as a touch input device.
On the software side, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite runs on Android 10 with One UI 2.0 out of the box and is upgradeable to Android 11 with One UI 3.1. It will also receive Android 13 thanks to Samsung’s new policy.
