Cricket Wireless is an American technology company that is known for providing wireless network services to millions of people in the US. Over the years, Cricket started to produce smartphones that are known for offering great specs at a relatively affordable price. Now, Cricket Influence, another smartphone has been launched by the American company.
Cricket Influence is a great entry-level smartphone as it has some lovely features like a large display, a decent processor, and a good enough battery life. With all of those, the phone is still priced at a very low point of less than $50.
In this article, I’ll be sharing with you the Cricket Influence specs and price, and everything else you need to know about the phone.
Cricket Influence Key Specs
- 6.2-inch IPS LCD display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 chipset
- 3GB of RAM
- 32GB of internal storage
- 13MP + 5MP dual rear camera
- 5MP front-facing camera
- 3,300 mAh non-removable battery
- Android 10
- Rear-mounted fingerprint sensor
Display
Upfront, the Cricket Influence has a fairly large 6.2-inch IPS LCD display that has an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels with 270 pixels per inch density. The screen is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which is scratch resistant and immune to easy damage.
The display has a water drop notch at the top which helps to house the selfie camera and give it a trendy look. The bezels around the screen are still quite noticeable but that is expected of any entry-level smartphone. It does a decent job of watching movies and playing games.
Design and Body
For an entry-level smartphone, the Cricket Influence is well-designed and it has a good enough build quality to stand the test of time.
The phone comes in at 185 grams of weight, and it has a thickness of 8.9 mm, making it feel a little bit big & bulky in the hands. As for build material, polycarbonate plastic is used to make the phone’s frame and back. It is not a bad choice as plastic is a very durable material.
On the rear, you’d notice the dual camera setup, the fingerprint sensor being slightly below it, and the “Cricket” branding at the bottom. On the sides, you’d find the power button and volume rockers.
Overall, the Cricket Influence has a fairly good design and build, not fantastic, but not also bad for a phone that costs less than $50.
Processor and Memory
Under the hood, the Cricket Influence is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 SoC. It has a maximum clock speed of 1.8 GHz and is built on an 11nm fabrication process.
As for gaming and other graphics-intensive tasks, the chipset is coupled with the Adreno 610 GPU so you can have a decent experience.
The processor is paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It has a micro SD card slot that allows you to extend the storage by up to 128GB. The RAM and storage are not large by today’s standard but I guess it’s one of the trade-offs to keep the price down.
Software
On the software front, Cricket Influence comes running on Android 10 straight out of the box.
Camera
On the rear, there is a dual camera setup that features a 13MP main camera with a 5MP secondary camera and an LED flash. It can record videos in up to 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second.
Upfront, there is a 5MP selfie camera tucked in the water drop notch and it can also record videos in up to 1080p resolution at 30 fps.
The cameras do not have large figures so don’t have too many expectations from them.
Battery and Charging
Coming to the battery, the Cricket Influence has a 3,300 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery. It is not a huge one but it should last you throughout the day so far you don’t run intensive tasks for long.
As for charging, the phone has a USB Type-C port at the bottom and it supports up to 10W of charging.
Network and Connectivity
As expected, the Cricket Influence has support for 4G LTE networks and it supports the following LTE bands: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 19, 28, & 66.
The phone comes with Bluetooth 5.0 (A2DP, LE, aptX HD), dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi Direct, FM radio, and GPS (dual-band A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, QZSS).
Cricket Influence Price and Availability
The Cricket Influence price starts at $39.99 if you are a new customer of Cricket Wireless and for normal customers, it is sold for $109.99. The phone is available in all Cricket stores, and you can get it from other online stores like Amazon, eBay, etc.
