Qualcomm is an American multinational company specialized in making semiconductors, software, chipsets, and services related to different wireless technology.
Recently, Qualcomm published a page on its official website letting us know that it will hold its Tech Summit event from November 30 to December 2, 2021. The page contains a big banner with a speed boat making an infinity sign in the water and a “More to come, soon!” text.
Although nothing is officially confirmed, we can assume that Qualcomm will unveil the Snapdragon 898, its highest-end chipset during this event. This is coming weeks after Qualcomm launched four mid-range and entry-level Snapdragon chipsets.
According to some leaks, the Qualcomm SM8450 SoC, better known as the Snapdragon 898 will come with noticeable upgrades and improvements. It is expected to have a prime ARM Cortex-X2 CPU core running at 3.0 GHz, alongside three mid ARM Cortex-A710 cores running at 2.5 GHz and four high-efficiency Cortex-A510 cores running at 1.79 GHz.
The Snapdragon 898 is said to come with a new Adreno 730 GPU which has architectural improvements and Samsung’s 4nm manufacturing process. The GPU is expected to offer up to 20% more improved performance when compared to the Adreno 660.
It is also expected to come with a new Qualcomm X65 5G modem which supports up to 10Gbps downlink speed.
The Snapdragon 898 has been tipped to be firstly used on the Xiaomi 12 which will launch by the end of this year with it getting to more phones by early next year.
Seeing how things used to be, it is safe to say that the new Snapdragon 898 chipset will be unveiled on November 30 and if not, no later than December 2.
