Launched alongside the BLU VIVO XL5 is the BLU VIVO X5, the cheaper one amongst and also the one with way fewer premium features. The BLU VIVO X5 is targeted at those who want a smartphone experience but don’t want to pay those high price tags. Starting at just $79, the VIVO X5 is a good entry-level smartphone from the American smartphone manufacturer.

Design and Body

Being such an affordable smartphone, the VIVO X5 is not spectacular in terms of design or build quality. It comes in a plastic body with a removable back to unveil the battery, micro SD slot, and SIM slots. It comes in at 160 grams of weight and has a thickness of 9.1 mm. It has its charging port at the top side of the phone which is weird nowadays.

Display

The BLU VIVO X5 sports a compact 5.7 inches IPS LCD with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels and about 282 pixels per inch density with an 18 by 9 aspect ratio. It has a bit of bezel around the display thanks to its pretty outdated aspect ratio.

Processor and Memory

It comes with the same processor as its more expensive sibling which is the octa-core UniSoc Spreadtrum SC9863A SoC (32nm) SoC which has a maximum clock speed of 1.6 GHz coupled with PowerVR GE8322 GPU. It comes with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with micro SD card support which is the same as the VIVO XL5.

Camera

On the rear, is a single 13MP camera with Auto Focus and a LED flash. On the front, is an 8MP selfie camera with an LED flash to help with selfies in low-light environments. As for video recording, both the selfie camera and rear camera can record 1080p videos at 30 fps.

Battery and Charging

Compared to its sibling, the battery capacity was greatly reduced. The BLU VIVO X5 comes with a 2,800 mAh Lithium Polymer battery that is removable compared to the massive 4,000 mAh on the BLU VIVO XL5.

Network and Connectivity

There’s support for fast 4G LTE network on the BLU VIVO X5 and it supports the following LTE bands: 2, 4, 5, 12, 17. It comes with Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and FM radio.

Software

On the software front, the VIVO X5 runs on stock Android 9 Pie out of the box.
