BLU VIVO XL5 is a budget smartphone from the American smartphone manufacturer, BLU. It is the successor to the previous BLU VIVO XL4 that was launched about a year ago. It comes with some nice improvements over its predecessor whilst still maintaining at a fairly affordable price. Starting at just $100, the BLU VIVO XL5 is a good budget smartphone with nice specifications and features. It was launched alongside the BLU VIVO X5. Without further ado, let us get right into it.

The VIVO XL5 comes with a large 6.3 inches IPS LCD with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and 269 pixels per inch density with a 19 by 9 aspect ratio. It is a bit larger than the display on its predecessor. It has a waterdrop notch that allows for more screen real estate.
Design and Body
This phone was surely designed to impress by the manufacturers. It is designed with state of the art finish, incorporating a leather back pattern that gives a great feel in the hands. It comes in at 181 grams of weight and it has a thickness of 9.6 mm which makes it not that sleek. The rear houses the dual-camera setup, a fingerprint scanner, BLU’s branding, and other info. Also, it is only available in Black color.


Processor and Memory
Powering the BLU VIVO XL5 is an octa-core UniSoc Spreadtrum SC9863A (32nm) SoC with a maximum clock speed of 1.6 GHz coupled with the PowerVR GE8322 GPU. It comes with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with support for a micro SD card.
Camera
At the rear, is a dual-camera setup that features a 13MP camera with Auto Focus and a 2MP depth camera for bokeh effects. It comes with an LED flash and can record 1080p videos at 30 fps.
On the front, is a 13MP selfie camera with an LED flash to help in low light environments. It can also record 1080p videos at 30 fps.


Battery and Charging
The battery on the BLU VIVO XL5 is a Li-Po 4,000 mAh, that is non-removable. It charges via its micro USB 2.0 port and it doesn’t support fast charging or wireless charging.
Network and Connectivity
There’s support for fast 4G LTE network on the VIVO XL5 and it supports the following LTE bands: 2, 4, 5, 12, 17. It comes with Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and FM radio.
