Annoying disruptive ads! Everyone hates them likewise google also. From the information we got, Google is planning to remove unto 600 apps from the google play store for violating its disruptive ads policy.
How does google know disruptive ads
A disruptive ad is an ad that appears unexpectedly interfering with the usability of the device leading to inadvertent clicks. Such ads can also be displayed when the user is not in the app that contains the advertisement. Google recently developed a new ML technology to detect context ads and has removed such app from the play store.
Other Google policy non-conforming ads are:
- Deceptive ads (it must be clear to the user which app is displaying the ads)
- Ads that appear on the lock screen
- Inappropriate ads (that are a consideration in regards to the audience of the app in which they appear e.g. online dating ad in a math app for children)
Google is still working to improves its detection and prevention methods of malicious ads to make sure that users and advertisers are protected
