Design and Body
The Tecno Camon 12 Pro has got a major upgrade in the design aspect. The phone now has a U shaped notch design on the screen which houses the selfie camera and a speaker also. Looking at the back of the phone, I’m sure you’d notice there’s no fingerprint sensor but actually the phone has a fingerprint sensor which is under the display(in display fingerprint sensor).
The Camon 12 Pro has a plastic body as usual and a glass front with no protection. The Tecno Camon 12 Pro measures a body dimension of 158.6 x 75.5 x 7.8 mm and weighs 161 g.
Display
Tecno Camon 12 Pro comes with a 6.35 AMOLED capacitive touchscreen(16M colors) with 720×1600 pixels resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 276 ppi density and 81.7% screen to body ratio. The display has a U notch design which houses the selfie shooter.
Processor and Memory
Under the hood, Tecno Camon 12 Pro is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 chipset which clocks at 2.0 GHz and is coupled with PowerVR GE8320 GPU to aid gaming and graphics. The processor is built on a 12nm processor which is expected to consume less power translating to lasting battery.
The Tecno Camon 12 Pro has 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot for expanding the storage.
Camera
The Camon 12 Pro has a triple rear camera, the first is a 16MP main camera, the second is a 8MP ultrawide camera and the third, a 2MP depth camera. The rear camera features a quad LED flash, panorama and HDR. The rear camera records 1080p HD videos at 30 frames per second.
On the front, we have a 32MP selfie camera which is similar to that of Phantom 9.
There is AI optimization on the front and rear cameras.
Network and Connectivity
Tecno Camon 12 Pro has 4G network in it for downloading and surfing the web. It supports the following LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28. It has download speed of up to 150 Mbps and upload speed of up to 50 Mbps.
It comes with Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi, GPS, FM Radio and WiFi hotspot. We have a micro USB port below the chin which supports OTG.

The Tecno Camon 12 Pro comes with a non removable 3500 mAh battery which is not impressive considering low end models having more than 4000 mAh battery. Tecno didn’t specify whether it will support fast charging of any kind. It charges via the micro USB port.
Software
Tecno Camon 12 Pro runs on HiOS 5.5 with Android 9 Pie. It is not certain if it will be upgradeable to any higher OS version.
