Business affected by this charge includes GSM providers like MTN, Ntel, Glo, Airtel, 9mobile internet service providers- smile, ntel, specranet bank and other financial institutions, insurance companies and stock exchange market.
Speaking at a conference in Lagos, the president of the association of telecommunication companies of nigeria Mr. Olusola Teniola, said the implementation of the levy is ill-timed, considering the fact that most telecommunication companies are still battling with unpaid taxes put up since 2015.

MTN Starts 4G LTE Internet Service Trial

Mr. Olusola Teniola, made it clearly that his members won’t be able to bear the levy of 0.005per cent levy if eventually it is imposed by the CBN and that the only way is to pass it in form of high prices to GSM subscribers.
So in any moment from now when the levy will be imposed start expecting hight call tarrif and costier data plans from your respective network providers. What’s your view on this?
