After lots of teasing, LG has finally launched the LG Stylo 6 which comes in as the successor to the LG Stylo 5 that was released around this time last year. LG is known for making good value budget-friendly smartphones and the LG Stylo 6 continues that.
The LG Stylo 6 comes in at a relatively affordable price and it is well packed with some of the best features and specs that you can get for that price range. It is one of the few affordable smartphones that have an in-built stylus as this is now considered to be a premium feature. When compared to its predecessor, the LG Stylo 6 stands as a worthy successor as it comes with a larger display, more storage space, a bigger battery, and a better overall camera setup.

Display
Looking at the display, you can’t help but notice how large it is and how much screen real estate is available for you to use alongside the fantastic in-built stylus pen. The LG Stylo 6 sports a large 6.8 inches FHD+ FullVision display that has a resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels and pixels per inch density of 395. The display also has an aspect ratio of 20.5 by 9 so the screen is quite slim when compared to its predecessor.
The display features an IPS LCD panel so it supports multi-touch and is quite responsive when used with the stylus pen. Being an LCD panel, the only problem is that you don’t get deep blacks and saturated colors while viewing content.
The screen has a tiny waterdrop notch at the center with minimal bezels around the sides and bottom. The display has NEG/GG3 glass screen protection. This is quite good as the screen is not going to get scratched easily but you should apply a tempered glass screen protector.
Design and Body
Design-wise, the LG Stylo 6 is a massive upgrade from the LG Stylo 5 as now, it comes with a more refined and revamped design. It is now confidently among the best designed budget-friendly smartphones in the market as of now.
The phone comes in a nice plastic body with a stainless steel-like frame and a gradient design at the rear. It comes in at about 220 grams of weight and has a thickness of 8.6 mm which makes it not that sleek. The build quality makes the phone shock resistant with it meeting the MIL-STD-810G standards. As for color options, the phone is only available in Holographic White.
On the rear, you’d notice a triple camera setup across the center, a fingerprint sensor slightly below, and LG’s branding close to the bottom.
On the sides, you’d find the power button, the volume rockers, and the dedicated physical button for calling upon the Google Assistant.

One of the key selling features of the LG Stylo series has always been the presence of a built-in stylus pen in a budget-friendly smartphone.
Samsung and LG are quite the only mainstream companies that still manage to make phones with a built-in stylus with the Galaxy Note series and Stylo series respectively, with the latter being the more affordable option.
The built-in spring-loaded stylus pen of the LG Stylo 6 helps you in many aspects as you can use it to take down notes, color, sketch, doodle, draw, and edit. LG boasts of high precision and accuracy with the stylus pen as it is designed to enhance the way you use your phone.
Processor and Memory
Under the hood, the LG Stylo 6 draws its power from the quad-core MediaTek Helio P35 processor which features four cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and four cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. The chipset is paired with the PowerVR GE8320 GPU for gaming and other graphics-intensive tasks.
The phone comes with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot for expanding the storage if need be.
The performance of this phone is not of the best available when compared to other phones around this price but it will get the simple day-to-day tasks done. However, problems will come about if you try to perform heavy tasks like high graphics gaming and multi-tasking.
Camera
Coming to the cameras, there is a triple rear camera setup with a single front-facing camera.
The triple rear camera setup features a 13MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 5MP ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5MP depth camera with f/2.4 aperture. The ultrawide camera helps to take wider photos as it has a 120° field of view. The depth camera helps to add bokeh to the images that you take.
The front-facing camera comes with a 13MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. It comes with a selfie light which helps to take photos in dark environments.
As for video recording, both the selfie and rear camera can record 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.
Battery and Charging
On the inside, the LG Stylo 6 is backed by a 4,000 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery. The battery is quite huge and LG estimates that it can offer up to 15 hours of talk time and up to 27 days of standby time.
As for charging, there’s a USB Type-C port at the bottom and there is no support for fast charging.
Network and Connectivity
There’s support for LTE, UMTS, GSM, WCDMA, and CDMA1 networks on the LG Stylo 6. Make sure to find out if the supports the network bands of your ISP.
As for connectivity, there’s support for Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, S-GPS, and Wi-Fi hotspot.
