The Huawei P40 Pro was just launched on the 26th of March this year. We will be have a comparison between the Huawei P40 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus in this post. We will be having the comparison from different parts of the phones. So let’s get started right away.

The Huawei P40 Pro sports a 6.58 inches OLED display with a 2640×1200 pixels resolution, HDR10 and a 90Hz refresh rate and a 441 ppi density While the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus sports a 6.7 inches Dynamic AMOLED display with a 1440×3200 pixels resolution, HDR10+ and a 120Hx refresh rate.
The Huawei P40 Pro has a glass back, glass front and an aluminum frame While the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus has a Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on the front and back and an aluminum frame.
The Huawei P40 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus both have IP68 water/dust resistant with up to 1·5m for 30 minutes.
Processor
The Huawei P40 Pro is powered by the 7nm+ HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G chipset clocking at 2.86 GHz and the Mali-G76 MP16 for graphics and gaming While the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is powered by the 7nm+ Exynos 990 chipset clocking at 2.76 GHz and the Mali G77 MP11 for graphics and gaming.
The phone comes with 8GB of RAM and 128-256GB of storage while the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus has 8GB of RAM and 128-512GB of storage.
Camera
The Huawei P40 Pro has a quad rear camera setup with 50MP(wide), 12MP(telephoto), 40MP(ultrawide) and 3D TOF sensors which can record 4K UHD at 30/60fps While the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus has quad rear camera setup with 64MP(telephoto), 12MP(wide),12MP(ultrawide) and 0.3MP 3D TOF sensors which can record 8K at 24fps.
On the front, The Huawei P40 Pro has a dual camera setup with 32MP(main) and IR TOF 3D(depth/biometrics) sensors which can also record 4K UHD at 30/60fps While the Galaxy S20 Plus has a 10MP selfie camera which can record 4K at 30/60fps.
Battery and Charging
The Huawei P40 Pro is backed by a non removable Li-Po 4200 mAh battery while the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is backed by a non removable Li-Po 4500mAh battery.
As for charging, you have the Huawei 40W Super Charge through the USB type C port and the 27W wireless fast charging and 27W fast wireless reverse charging. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus has a 25W fast charge through the USB type C port, 15W wireless charge and 9W reverse wireless charge.
Network and Connectivity
The Huawei P40 Pro has 5G and 4G LTE network in it for downloading and surfing the web While the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus has 4G LTE network on it for downloading and surfing the web.
The Huawei P40 Pro comes with Bluetooth 5.1, WiFi, GPS, NFC and infrared port while the S20 Plus comes with Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi, GPS, NFC and no infrared port.
Software
The Huawei P40 Pro runs on EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10 While the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus runs on Android 10 with One UI 2.
Others
The Huawei P40 Pro has an optical in display fingerprint sensor, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus has an ultrasonic in display fingerprint sensor. Both phones doesn’t have the 3.5mm headphone jack.
