A few days back, Huawei held a big conference in China where it unveiled coupled of new devices including a new smartwatch, the Watch GT Runner, and a new gaming VR headset, the VR Glass 6DoF. Some of the other devices launched were two Windows devices, a 2-in-1 PC and an all-in-one desktop. In this article, we’ll go through everything you need to know about the Huawei GT Runner and the Huawei VR Glass 6DoF.
Huawei Watch GT Runner
The Huawei GT Runner comes in a 46 mm case size and has a 1.43 inch round AMOLED screen with support for always-on display. It comes with SpO2 measurements and Huawei TruSeen 5.0 optical heart rate model so you can monitor your heart rate. It can track your activity in over 100 different sports modes. Also, the watch comes with 4GB of internal storage.
The Watch GT Runner is constructed of reinforced polymer fiber coming in at 38.5 grams of weight. The watch is also 5ATM water-resistant so a bit of rain would do no damage. It has an onboard mic and speaker so you can take calls from your connected phone.
The watch is available in two colors which are grey and black.
Battery life on this smartwatch is pretty great as it is rated at 14 days on a single charge.
As for connectivity, it comes with NFC, Bluetooth, and GNSS positioning. Unfortunately, there’s no cellular connection.
The Huawei Watch GT Runner is priced at CNY 2,188 (≈$343 or €304) and it will go on sale on November 26. There’s no information on global availability yet.
Huawei VR Glass 6DoF
The Huawei VR Glass 6DoF is a VR headset created with gaming in mind as it comes with two dedicated controllers.
The VR Glass 6DoF comes with a dual LCD screen that has a size of 2.1 inches with a single eye resolution of 1600 x 1600 pixels and a binocular resolution of 3200 x 1600 pixels. It comes in at 188 grams of weight which is not bulky.
The headset has a 90-degree field of view and the two lenses are adjustable for users with myopia of down to –7.00.
The Huawei VR Glass 6DoF is priced at CNY 3,999 (≈$627 or €556) and it will go on sale in China on November 26. Just like the watch, there’s no information on global availability yet.
