The BLU Bold N1 is a new smartphone from the American manufacturer. As the name implies, it is truly “Bold” as it comes with new trendy features like an in-display fingerprint scanner, a motorized pop-up selfie camera, full-screen display amongst others. It also has premium features like an AMOLED display, wireless charging, fast charging, etc. Starting at around $179, the BLU Bold N1 is an amazing smartphone with nice specs to price ratio for one to get.

Display
The display of the BLU Bold N1 is spectacular considering its price. It sports a 6.4 inches AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and 403 PPI density with an aspect ratio of 19.5 by 9. The screen is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which is scratch-resistant and immune to easy damage. This is a full-screen display with no obstructions thanks to the motorized pop-up selfie camera. Beneath the display, is an optical fingerprint scanner for biometric security.
Design and Body
The BLU Bold N1 has a premium design, it is sophistication and glamour wrapped in a smartphone. It comes in a curved glass design with a sandblasted metal in between. It is attractive and has that premium feel when you hold it in your hands. As for color options, it is available in Midnight Black.
Processor and Memory
Powering the BLU Bold N1 is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 (12nm) SoC which has a maximum clock speed of 2.1 GHz coupled with the Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM and an ample 128GB of internal storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot for expanding the storage.
Camera
The camera happens to be the only department where this phone doesn’t take things far. The BLU Bold N1 has a dual rear camera that features a 16MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture and PDAF and a 5MP depth camera for bokeh effects. It can record 1080p videos at 30 fps.
As for the selfie, we are graced with a 13MP motorized pop-up camera that comes out of the phone when switched to selfie mode.
Battery and Charging
The battery on the BLU Bold N1 is a Li-Po 3,500 mAh, that’s not user-replaceable. The battery capacity is not huge but I guess BLU made up with that by adding more charging techs. As for charging, it has support for 18W fast wired charging and 10W fast wireless charging.
Network and Connectivity
There’s support for 4G LTE, HSDPA, and GSM networks on the BLU Bold N1 and it supports the following LTE bands: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 28. It comes with Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and FM radio. Also, there’s a USB 2.0 type C port for charging and data transfer.
Software
On the software front, the BLU Bold N1 runs on stock Android 9 Pie straight out of the box and it is scheduled for a planned upgrade to Android 10.
