The Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro is the successor to the Redmi K30 which was launched earlier this year. We’ll be having a comparison between the Redmi K30 Pro and the Redmi K30 to determine whether it’s worth buying as an upgrade. We will be having the comparison in different components of the phone.
Design and Display
The Xiaomi Redmi K30 sports a 6.67 inches IPS LCD display with 1080×2400 pixels, 395ppi density, HDR10 and a 120Hz refresh rate while the Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro on the other hand sports a 6.67 inches Super AMOLED full view display with 1080×2400 pixels, 395 ppi density, HDR10+ and a 500 nits typ brightness.
The Xiaomi Redmi K30 is protected on the front and back with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and it has an aluminum frame While the Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro is protected on the front and back with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and it also has an aluminum frame.
Processor and Memory
The Xiaomi Redmi K30 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G(8nm) chipset clocking at 2.2 GHz and the Adreno 618 for gaming and graphics While the Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865(7nm+) chipset clocking at 2.84 GHz and the Adreno 650 for gaming and graphics.
The Redmi K30 had 6/8GB of RAM and 64/128/256GB of storage, the Redmi K30 Pro also has 6/8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of storage.
Camera
The Xiaomi Redmi K30 has a quad rear camera with 64MP(primary), 8MP(ultrawide), 2MP(macro) and 2MP(depth) sensors. It can record 4K(2160p) at 30fps. The Redmi K30 also has a 20MP+2MP dual punch hole selfie camera.
The Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro also has a quad rear camera with 64MP(primary), 13MP(ultrawide), 5MP(telephoto) and 2MP(macro) sensors. It can record 8K(4320p) at 24/30fps. It has a 20MP motorized pop up selfie camera.
Battery and Charging
The Xiaomi Redmi K30 is backed by a non removable Li-Po 4500mAh battery with 27W fast charge which can charge it to 100% in 68 mins(as advertised) while the Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro is backed by a non removable Li-Po 4700mAh battery with 33W fast charge which can charge it to 100% in 65 mins(as advertised) and has quick charge 4+.
They both use the USB type C port for charging.
Network and Connectivity
The Xiaomi Redmi K30 has dual 4G LTE networks on both sims for browsing and downloading. It has Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, WiFi, infrared port and NFC. The Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro has 4G LTE and 5G networks on it for downloading and surfing the web. It has Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, WiFi and infrared port.
Software
The Xiaomi Redmi K30 and K30 Pro both run on MIUI 11 based on Android 10.
Fingerprint Sensor
I guess this is where the main difference asides the processer and display lies. The Xiaomi Redmi K30 has a side mounted fingerprint sensor While the Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro has an in display fingerprint sensor.
