Some weeks back, Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy J2 Pure which is an entry-level smartphone. It was released with Cricket Wireless. The Galaxy J2 Pure comes with some cool specs and features for its below $100 price point. Samsung Galaxy J2 Pure specs and features will be written in this article. I’ll also be doing a brief review of the new entry-level smartphone.

• 2GB of RAM
• 16GB of internal storage

Design and Body

The design of the Galaxy J2 Pure is nothing special but it still looks very good. It is made out of plastic and comes in only one color – which is Black. The phone has a thickness of ~10.2 mm and it weighs about 153 grams (including the battery). In this aspect, the phone is not bad as it is just an entry-level phone.
Display
Coming to the display, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Pure sports a 5.0 inches PLS TFT LCD display with a resolution of 540×960 pixels and 220 PPI density. The resolution is quite low I expected a 720p panel but I guess it’s a way of keeping costs down. Unfortunately, there’s no protection on this phone.
Processor and Memory
The Samsung Galaxy J2 Pure is powered by the Exynos 7570 quad-core processor which has a maximum clock speed of 1.4 GHz. The processor is built on a 14nm fabrication process so it’s a bit power efficient. The Mali T720 GPU is in charge of graphics and gaming here.
The phone comes with 2GB and 16GB built-in storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot for expanding the storage if need be. You can add up to 400GB of storage using a micro SD card.

Camera
Coming to the camera department, there’s a single 8 megapixels rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and AutoFocus. The rear camera can record 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.
At the front, we have a 5 megapixels camera for taking selfies and video calls.

Battery and Charging
The Galaxy J2 Pure comes with a removable Li-Ion 2,600 mAh battery. The battery is not huge but if you’re an average user it should be okay for you. As for charging, the phone has a micro USB port for charging. It doesn’t support fast charging at all.
Network and Connectivity

This phone has support for 4G LTE network which lets you have high internet speeds. It comes with WiFi, WiFi Direct, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and FM radio. Samsung Galaxy J2 Pure is only available on Cricket Wireless.
Software
Samsung Galaxy J2 Pure runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go edition out of the box and it may later get an upgrade in the future.
Price
The Samsung Galaxy J2 Pure price starts at $79.99 and it is available on Amazon and other online stores.
