Samsung has announced the Samsung Galaxy J7 Star also known as Samsung Galaxy J7 (2018) is the successor to the previous Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017). The Galaxy J7 Star is a new mid-range smartphone that comes with some amazing specs that will be written in this article. Design and Body
The design of the Galaxy J7 Star didn’t get an obvious change when it’s compared with its predecessor. It comes in a cheap plastic body. It has a thickness of 8.6 mm and weighs about 181 grams. The phone feels good in the hands even if it’s made with plastic.

Coming to the display, the Galaxy J7 (2018) comes with a 5.5 inches TFT display with an HD+ resolution of 720×1280 pixels and 267 pixels per inch density. The screen is protected by the state of art Corning Gorilla Glass 5 so it is scratch-resistant and immune to easy damage.
Processor and Memory
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Star (J7 2018) is powered by the octa-core Exynos 7870 processor which has a maximum clock speed of 1.6 GHz. The processor is built on a 14nm fabrication process so it’s a bit power efficient. The Mali T830 MP1 GPU is in charge of graphics and gaming here.
The phone comes with 2GB and 32GB built-in storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot for expanding the storage if need be. You can add an extra 400GB of storage using an SD card.
Camera
Coming to the camera department, there is a single 13 megapixels rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and AutoFocus. The rear camera has HDR capabilities and can take panorama shots. It can record 1080p videos at 30 fps.

The Galaxy J7 Star comes with a non-removable Li-Ion 3,300 mAh battery. The battery is fairly huge and should last you up to a day. As for charging, the phone has a micro USB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support fast charging or wireless charging.

Samsung Galaxy J7 (2018) runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. It is now upgradeable to Android 9 Pie with Samsung’s own One UI.
