LG is a South Korean technology giant known for making smartphones, smart accessories, laptops, monitors, TVs, and other consumer electronics. LG is known for making quite good smartphones across the budget and high-end price ranges. A few days back, LG announced the LG Aristo 2 which is going to be the successor to the previous LG Aristo that was launched a couple of months back.

The LG Aristo 2 is a nice budget-friendly smartphone for anyone that wants to use a new smartphone but doesn’t want to pay the more expensive price other phones cost. One thing to note is that the LG Aristo 2 is going to be exclusive to two different carriers which are Metro PCS and T-Mobile. If you don’t use any of these two service providers, then there is no need for you to get this phone.
When compared to the original LG Aristo from last year, this phone manages to come with some slightly noticeable improvements like a larger memory, a bit better display, and a slightly better battery life.
If you have been searching for a new budget smartphone then continue reading this article as I’ll be sharing with you the LG Aristo 2 specs, price and features. Is the LG Aristo 2 a good phone? Join and take a look at the LG Aristo 2 review.

Design and Body
Looking at the LG Aristo 2, you would notice it doesn’t have any flashy design and it is focused on the basics and keeping everything as simple as possible. The phone has an all-plastic build with only the front being different as it is made of glass. Having a plastic body makes the Aristo 2 quite light weighted and durable even though it won’t have the premium feel experienced when using more premium materials like glass or aluminum.
The phone has a thickness of 8.1 mm and comes in at a weight of 139 grams so it is quite sleek.

On the rear of the phone, you’d notice the single rear camera with an LED flash and the power button which surprisingly looks like a fingerprint sensor. On the right side, there’s nothing at all while the left side houses the volume rockers. At the bottom, you’d find the micro USB charging port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microphone.
Display
The display of the LG Aristo 2 is a 5.0 inches IPS LCD panel with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and 294 pixels per inch density. The display also has a 16 by 9 aspect ratio so there are some big bezels at the top and bottom of the phone. The display has support for multi-touch which makes the touchscreen experience to be way better.

The screen has a generic 2.5D glass over it that serves as protection from scratches and easy damage.
The display is not one of the sharpest nor brightness but it is quite decent considering how affordable this smartphone is when compared to others.
Processor and Memory
The LG Aristo 2 is powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC which has a maximum clock speed of 1.4 GHz. The chipset is built on a 28nm fabrication process which is not well known to be power efficient. It is coupled with the Adreno 308 GPU which is a decent graphics unit for an entry-level smartphone.
When doing simple day-to-day tasks like taking photos, browsing the web, listening to music, and opening applications, this phone performs quite well but it only starts to struggle when doing heavy tasks.

The processor is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The memory is about 0.5GB larger than last year’s version but the storage still remains the same which is quite disappointing. The storage is also going to easily run out but there’s a micro SD card slot to help out when that eventually happens.
Software
On the software front, the LG Aristo 2 runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat which is not even the latest version of Android at the moment.
Camera
Coming to the camera, the LG Aristo 2 has a single rear camera setup and also a single front-facing camera. The rear camera setup features a 13MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 1.12μm pixel size. It has an LED flash beneath the main camera module which helps out in dark environments.

On the front, there is a 5MP selfie camera with an f/2.4 aperture and a 1.12μm pixel size.
Overall, the cameras perform quite decent but the selfie lacks in quality when compared to the rear camera. When in near-perfect conditions, the cameras are expected to capture quite good images.
As for video recording, the rear camera can record up to 1080p at 30 fps while the front-facing camera is capped at 720p HD at 30 fps.
Battery and Charging
On the inside, the LG Aristo 2 is backed by a 2,410 mAh Li-Ion battery. Unlike other smartphones, this battery is removable so you can change it easily if it has any issues. As for battery life, the LG says the Aristo 2 can deliver up to 17 hours of talk time and more than 1 day of standby time.
When it eventually runs low, it can be charged via the micro USB at the bottom. Unfortunately, there’s no support for fast charging.
The battery might not be large but it is quite efficient and can last throughout the day-to-day activities of an average user with no problems.
Network and Connectivity
There’s support for 4G LTE network on this phone and it supports the LTE bands of both T-Mobile and Metro PCS that it is exclusive to. It comes with Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, and FM Radio.
LG Aristo 2 Price and Availability
The LG Aristo 2 price starts at $59 and it is available in all T-Mobile and Metro PCS official stores.

Is LG Aristo 2 a Good Phone?
Yes, the LG Aristo 2 is a good phone. After going through the specs and features of this phone, I can boldly say it is one of the best phones you can get in its price range. It offers one of the best spec to price ratio in the entry-level market.
